Duties and Responsibilities of a Quality Control Technician

As a QC Tech, you will be working under minimum supervision, performing, and documenting thorough quality inspections of the product from pre-pour to post-pour. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting in documenting acceptance testing of the concrete. If you are someone who has an excellent attention to detail and whose analytical skills are strong, this could be just what you're looking for.

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities of the Quality Control Technician:

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings/blueprints as they show products alone and in relation to adjacent products.
  • Ability to read and follow construction details.
  • Ability to develop detailed sketches of problems as a means of finding a resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and have good organizational skills.
  • Good visual abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust visual focus.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as a hardhat, earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced education in a technical school, college, or university is preferred
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting is preferred
  • Prior Quality Control experience is preferred
